TRAPUNTA (Temperature Regression and loAd Projection with UNcertainty Analysis) is an innovative methodology and software developed by MMP for ENTSO-E. It is adopted to analyze and forecast market node-wise electrical load and its uncertainty by performing the statistical identification of the impact of climatic variables on the demand.
TRAPUNTA combines the appeal and ease-of-use of a GUI-based software with the accuracy and reliability of advanced statistical methods. Thanks to this, it is currently used by ENTSO-E, MedTSO, and various TSOs across Europe and North Africa to conduct adequacy studies and scenario building for European and north-African countries.
